Honest opinions about things.

A place, a dish, a shop, a brand. Mornings, Mondays, the 28 tram. Fifteen seconds each, one take, from someone who was there, and one question answered: was it worth it?

Not a spiel. A Shpeel.

Or shpeel one yourself, free, in the app.

Out right now? Say what you’re up for, and see who’s near.

How a Shpeel gets here

  1. The app asking what the Shpeel is about, with a search box and a result for Taberna do Largo marked Owner verified.

    Search it

A place, a dish, a shop, a product, a brand. If nobody has added it, you add it.

  2. The SHPEEL camera with the name of the place at the top, a large 15 counting down, and the note that the app camera is the only way in.

    Record 15 seconds

The app camera only. When it stops, it is done.

  3. The page for Taberna do Largo showing 4.7 stars from four Shpeels and a grid of reviews tagged Owner, Rui and Marta.

    It goes on the page

Newest first, the same order for everyone. The owner can answer it.

A review playing in the app: stickers reading Visit · Rui and Invited by the owner, the pill for Taberna do Largo, a quote in large type, five stars and a Book button.

What one review carries

The sticker
Says who recorded it, and whether the owner invited them.
The face and the name
A person on camera, not an anonymous star count.
Worth it?
Yes or no, from everyone who went. A page shows the count after three of them, and only from people nobody paid.
One take
Recorded in the app camera. Retake before you post, never after.
The reply
Owners answer underneath. They cannot edit, hide or reorder.
The argument
Anyone who was there can answer a Shpeel with their own fifteen seconds. It sits under theirs, counts like any Shpeel, and the person answered cannot take it down.

For people · 18+

I’m here. Who’s up for this?

The other half of SHPEEL. Not an opinion about a place: a call to do something at one. Padel at seven, coffee and a walk, a hand moving a sofa. You say it on camera, people near you answer on camera, and a group happens or it doesn’t.

  1. The Connect tab in the app: a plan from UI Owner reading “Padel at seven, two courts booked, need two more”, in Chiado, Lisbon, with two of four people in.

    Say what you’re up for

Fifteen seconds, one take: where you are and what you want to do. It reaches people within a few kilometres, and anyone who follows you.

  2. A plan open in the app: who recorded it, what they said, the area and how far away, and one button reading Ask to join.

    They answer with their face

Nobody types their way in. Asking to join is a video, and so is the fifteen seconds about yourself that you record once, before you can ask anything.

  3. Inside a group in the app: the meeting spot, somebody waiting on a yes with buttons reading Yes and No, and the group’s messages underneath.

    Everyone already in says yes

One no is the answer, and nobody is told who said it. Then the group gets the exact spot and a thread — and yes, you can type in that one.

What it does with where you are

Strangers see an area
Never where you are standing. The exact spot appears once you are in the group, and nowhere else.
One face, one plan at a time
Fifteen seconds about yourself, recorded in the app. It is shown to the people deciding on you, and nowhere else: not the feed, not your profile, not search.
Adults only
Connect asks for your date of birth the first time you open it. The rest of SHPEEL never asks.

We don’t check who anyone is beyond a phone number and the video they recorded of themselves. Meet somewhere public, tell someone where you’re going, and leave if it feels wrong. The terms say the same.

For places

Content you can’t buy.

Every Shpeel about your place is a customer on camera, in one take, saying what they thought. You can’t write it, script it, edit it or take it down. That is why the next customer believes it.

  • Get found. People search your name and see the faces of people who came, not a star average.
  • Worth it, counted honestly. Your page says how many said yes, from people nobody paid.
  • Answer on camera. Reply under any Shpeel with your own 15 seconds. It sits under theirs, never over it.
  • Give something for Shpeels. A free coffee for anyone who records one, whatever they say. They show a QR at the counter and you scan it. Every rewarded Shpeel says so.
  • Choose where the button goes. Book, Buy, Request or Go. It is the one thing on the page that is yours.
  • The link editor in the app: a field for your link, a choice of Link, WhatsApp or Request, and the button wording Book, Buy, Request or Go.

The one thing you control: where the button goes.

  • An owner's video reply playing under a review, labelled Carla Nunes replied, with Review and Reply tabs.

Your reply sits under their Shpeel, never over it.

For brands

Let other people sell it for you.

A product page is one thing you sell. A brand is the house it lives in: your name, your logo, your terms. Put a product under it, say what a sale pays, and anyone on SHPEEL can record their own 15 seconds about it and sell it to the people who trust them.

  • You set the commission. Per product. A creator only earns when something sells.
  • Your logo travels. It sits on every Shpeel about your products, whoever recorded it.
  • You reply, you never edit. Same rule as everyone else, which is why the good reviews count.
  • No media buying. Nobody pays to rank. The page is ordered by when people recorded, for everyone.

Advertising on purpose.

People open SHPEEL to be sold to. They came to find something to buy and to hear what it is actually like. That is the whole trade: you get attention nobody skipped, and you cannot fake what is said.

Tell us what you sell.

We are in Lisbon and we answer our own messages. If you run a brand, a shop or a following, say what you want to do and we will tell you whether SHPEEL is any use to you yet.
